Obtain records	No parent consent for release of documents is required
Within State	Consult with parents to provide FAPE including services comparable* to those described in the current IEP from previous school.
	When transfer IEP is received, the school may: (1) Adopt the transfer IEP or (2) Develop and implement a new IEP Eligibility has already been established and a reevaluation is not required
Out-of-State	Consult with parents to provide FAPE including services comparable* to those described in the current IEP from previous school
	(1)Adopt the current out-of-state IEP or (2) Conduct an initial evaluation* * and (3) if eligible, develop a new IEP
	*Comparable means similar or equivalent to the services described in the IEP as determined by the student’s newly designated IEP team.
	**Initial evaluations require parental consent.
