Teachers: Professional Development

SCKSEC PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

SCKSEC believes that professional development is crucial to the development of quality teachers and ultimately to the growth and development of the students in the cooperative.  Each year SCKSEC offers many different training opportunities for teachers to attend.  These trainings are designed to help the staff utilize the different software products and curriculum offerings to enhance the educational opportunity of the SCKSEC students.

SCKSEC staff have the unique opportunity to participate in the Staff Development program of their choice.  They can either sign up through the district in which they serve, or they can sign up through SCKSEC.  Either way is perfectly acceptable so long as they are participating in one of the two.  The SCKSEC PDC council meets at least quarterly to evaluate the Professional Development Requests of the SCKSEC staff with a Professional Development plan on file.  They also discuss Professional Development issues within the Cooperative and discuss opportunities to improve the staff development opportunities offered through SCKSEC.

SCKSEC promotes the quest for professional knowledge by its teachers and as long as funds are available and will evaluate all requests for training from staff members.  It is the hope of SCKSEC administration that teachers pursuing staff development will share the knowledge they gain with their coworkers and help all staff benefit from these training opportunities.
